Every
year, COMCAST employees participate in a day where they clean up and beautify a
particular area in a community. This year they selected Catholic Charities
programs in Dorchester, Massachusetts and they invited GRLZradio.org to
participate in their efforts.
GRLZradio.org participated in cleaning,
gardening, and painting the St. Peters Teen Program.
Annual Mother's Day Walk for Peace Sunday, May 9, 2010
GRLZradio
took part in the annual Walk for Peace sponsored by the Louis D. Brown Peace
Institute. Louis D. Brown was the son of Tina Chery. He was an innocent bystander
shot and killed during gang rivalry in Boston on his way to his community
program. Tina established the Peace Institute and the Peace Walk fourteen years
ago. The walk takes place every mother's day to promote peace and raise funds
for violence prevention activities. This is also a time for mothers, fathers, family and friends to come
together and celebrate the lives of those lost due to violence
GRLZradio.org participates in this
activity every year to support the Peace Institute and our friends and families
who have lost loved ones through violence.
