HOME. by Amandine Cardichon
Though, not the biggest place,
all I could ever need is in it.
Three rooms, two bathrooms and a beautifully
simple kitchen with a checkered background.
The place I look forward to going after a long,
Where my warm bed and warm hearts await me.
Where I know I will be welcomed
in the arms of my mother,
and greeted by the comforting smell
of my mother's meals.
Jokes. Insults. Advice.
They make me whole.
My family makes my home.
It’s the place I am responsible for keeping clean
and in turn, I can always find purity there.
Where, despite having to maintain it
I have been taught the things that shape me.
A four letter word
one wouldn’t expect much from,
but which means the world.
Though, not the biggest place.
all I could ever want is there.
all I need is there.
