Meet the Bloggers: Spring 2018 Edition, Part 1

Yesmari Geronimo

Hey readers! My name is Yesmari, but you can just call me Mel. I am 18 turning 19 on April 12th. I attend Fenway High School where I’ve been since freshman year and I’ll be graduating with the class of 2018!! When I have free time I spend most of it around my closest friends I met when I started at Fenway. I also write music. I like to write songs because they help me express how I’m feeling; I find it experimental and fun. I decided to become a blogger because of the same reason I write music: I love to write and I am always open to new ideas and creativity. What interests me most about writing is using metaphors in new and creative ways!

My name Tabreia! I am a 15 year old African American, Trinidadian, and Native American teenager. Ever since the 6th grade I have been going to Roxbury Prep Charter School. I believe Roxbury Prep can help me go to my ideal college. My favorite hobbies are to sing and hang out with my friends, because I like to put a smile on my friends' faces and I like to see them happy! I want to write because my Aunt majors in directing and theater in college, and that involves a lot of writing, so she inspires me to do the same!

Ella Martin

Hey everybody I’m Ella! I’m 16 years old and go to Boston Latin Academy. I’m currently in my Junior year of high school, and, aside from going to school, I play several sports and exploring. I started playing sports when I was seven in order to fit in with my 4 brothers who were constantly playing sports. Being the only girl, I’ve tried almost every sport under the sun to try and keep up. In the end, I stuck with lacrosse and snowboarding, because I was good at it, and I loved being on the slopes and the exhilaration of going down and doing jumps! On the weekends, I’m mainly out exploring Boston and other cities, going to places I’ve never been while taking pictures and walking around. Among these things, I love to write. I chose to be a blogger, because I want to be a journalist when I get older and thought this would be a good way to start my career. I love to write about things that will actually change the world, like movements, politics, and worldwide crises.
